Young people’s experiences of gambling

The Office of Responsible gambling is looking for young people (aged 18-24) to talk about their experiences with gambling. We are aiming to make a series of 3-5 minute videos which will showcase the stories of young people. These videos will be used on the Office’s websites and social media to help raise awareness of gambling harm, and in community education programs.

What is involved?

You will be asked to attend a day where you will be filmed telling your story. A staff member from the Office will ask you questions in an interview style format. The questions will be provided to you before the filming takes place. An external agency will conduct the filming and editing.

What kind of stories are you looking for?

The Office is looking for young people with stories which fit the following themes:

  • Young people who have had a parent or guardian with a gambling problem.
  • Young people who themselves have had a gambling problem.
  • Young people who have felt pressured to gamble in a social setting, or have concerns about the gambling behaviours or attitudes of their peers.

What are the benefits for me?

The stories will be used to help educate other young people about gambling. You will also receive a $200 gift voucher.

How do I register my interest?
